The show, which is based on Vicki Iovine’s bestselling series, follows Abby (Lisa Edelstein) and her career as a self-help book author who’s hiding something: her separation from her husband. Garofalo plays Lyla, Abby’s entertainment lawyer and friend. According to TV Line, which first reported the news, Garofalo will continue shooting through October to give her character a proper exit. Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce premieres Tuesday, Dec. 2.
