EW has learned that Brooklyn Nine-Nine has cast the Trainwreck star and SNL vet as the new captain in the precinct, filling the position vacated by Captain Holt (Andre Braugher), who took a PR post with the NYPD in the Fox comedy’s season 2 finale. The character is described as “efficient.” Hader — who also stars in IFC’s upcoming mockumentary Documentary Now! — will guest-star in Brooklyn‘s season 3 premiere, which airs Sept. 27. Fox is not revealing how many episodes in which he will appear. The following week’s episode also will feature some star power, as Archie Panjabi will play a lieutenant with an interest in Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio). •The Good Wife’s Archie Panjabi to guest-star on Brooklyn Nine-Nine •Brooklyn Nine-Nine finale clip: Jake confesses his feelings to Amy… in an accent •Brooklyn Nine-Nine boss: ‘It’s not smooth sailing’ for Jake and Amy
