Russell Brand was living a life he detested while married to Katy Perry

Russell Brand isn’t exactly mincing words when it comes to his failed marriage with Katy Perry.

The 40-year-old comedian, who takes center stage in the new documentary “BRAND: A Second Coming,” is heard in the film’s trailer slamming his famous ex.

“Oh my f—–g God. I’m living this life of the very thing I detest,” Brand exclaimed as the clip panned to shots of him with Perry, 31. “Vapid, vacuous celebrity. Fame and power is b——t.”

Brand, who filed for divorce in 2011 after 14 months of marriage, reportedly felt that their union was crumbling following a trip to Africa in 2010.

“It’s definitely good I’m with someone I love. But it’s not a resolution to anything spiritual …” Brand said to pal Stephen Merchant in the film, via the Daily Mail. “This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I’m going to have to walk away.”

While Brand allegedly mimicked Perry’s accent in the flick, the “Dark Horse” singer hit back at the comic after sharing the intimate details behind their sudden split.

“He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him,” Perry told Vogue in 2013. “Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”

Brand originally cited “incompatibility” as the reason for the breakup.

“Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don’t,” Brand explained during an interview with Australia’s “60 Minutes.” “But if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways.”
