Jonah Hill’s new tattoo celebrates body positivity

Jonah Hill is showing himself some love.

The 37-year-old actor has been vocal about his body image struggles in the past, and now, he’s celebrating how far he’s come with a new tattoo.

On Sunday, Hill posted an Instagram photo flexing his right arm to show off his shoulder tat: the hand sign for “I love you” along with “Body Love,” a play on surfing brand Body Glove‘s logo.

Many fans and fellow celebrities showed their support for Hill in the comments.

“Yesssssss”, wrote the actor’s friend and fashion collaborator Zoe Kravitz, while Sharon Stone added, “Look at You 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍”.

“You are thriving!,” a fan exclaimed, while another chimed in with, “Thanks for being yourself and loving yourself.”

In a GQ interview last year, Hill opened up about his complicated relationship with his body and the fashion industry.

“I always had an interest in personal style and fashion, but I was always a bigger guy,” he explained. “It’s really hard when you’re overweight to dress a certain way, because clothes aren’t made for people who are overweight to have style.”

Added Hill, “Even now, I’ll overhear someone discussing my place in the fashion world or whatever, and people are like, ‘That guy? The schlubby guy from “Superbad?”‘”

He opened up further about his body positivity journey in February, writing on Instagram, “I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends. Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers.”

Added Hill, “I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself.”
