So, Beyoncé Might Have Teased Her Own Hair-Care Brand

Beyoncé loves dropping a new album, magazine cover, or a hint (often cryptic) about a big launch without any notice. She just started her Renaissance tour, so I've been on alert in case she debuts a new or creative look at any second. But trust and believe that I was not prepared to see her tease the possibility of a hair-care line.

On May 16, Bey shared an Instagram carousel with three photos and no caption, and there are layers to this photo set. Let's start with the first picture, which features Beyoncé curling what appears to be her natural hair using a curling iron with a tiny barrel that gives her springy coils at the front of her hair. Those curls are more defined and uniform than the rest of her hair, which is a little more textured.

This photo has two things we rarely, if ever, see from Beyoncé: The first is her curls, which she does wear occasionally, and the second is that she's styling her own hair. To be clear, I'm not questioning her hairstyling skills. I just don't think we've seen any recent footage of Beyoncé doing her own hair or makeup.

But on to the important part: In the photo, there are numerous generic-looking containers housing unidentified creams, liquids, and who knows what else on the counter in front of her. Each bottle has a white label, but it's impossible to see what, if anything, is written on those labels. Is she testing lab samples?

The second photo is one that the Beyhive is familiar with. It shows a young Beyoncé getting her hair braided at her mother's hair salon. It might seem like a cute throwback until you see the last slide that features words written by Queen Bey herself on a gray background: “How many of y'all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama's salon? Destiny's Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I've always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can't wait for you to experience what I've been creating.” She signed it with a heart and the letter B.

I don't know, y'all, but I'm taking that as a fairly large hint that Beyoncé has something cooking for us in the hair-care world. Whatever it is, me and my hair are ready.
