Mischa Barton told Us Weekly recently she wants to steer clear of gossip. So the former star of “The O.C.” just turned down a role in CW’s hit drama “Gossip Girl.” Well, that makes perfect sense! TV Guide reports the 22-year-old actress – who was charged with DUI and marijuana possession last week – had been approached to play Georgina Sparks, an old pal of reformed party girl Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). “She will not be on the show,” Barton’s rep told Us. “She was approached, but her reps passed.” Barton has said in the past that she’d prefer to work on movies. She’s now promoting her upcoming drama “Closing the Ring” in Paris.
