Bill Hader is returning to Saturday Night Live for an October episode.

The former SNL cast member will host the October 11 instalment, with 'Take Me to Church' singer Hozier appearing as the week's musical guest.


Hader starred on the NBC sketch comedy series for eight seasons, prior to his departure in 2013.

He is appearing on Saturday Night Live to promote his upcoming movie The Skeleton Twins, which also features his former SNL co-star Kristen Wiig.

SNL producer Lorne Michaels has announced a series of cast changes over the last week.

The Daily Show's Michael Che will replace Cecily Strong as Colin Jost's 'Weekend Update' co-anchor, with stand-up comic Pete Davidson joining the cast.

Mike O'Brien will be returning to the writing staff after appearing in the cast last season, while stars John Milhiser, Noël Wells, and Brooks Wheelan have been let go.

Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande are appearing on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 27.

Former SNL cast member Sarah Silverman hosts the October 4 episode, while Maroon 5 will be the musical guest.
