Antarctica Ice Melt

What’s Alarming

The ice sheets of Antarctica have been melting at a rate which has tripled since 2007, resulting in a contribution to sea level rise which has tripled since 2012. At this rate, Antarctica alone will cause a six-inch rise to global sea level by the end of this century.

“Antarctica Is Melting Three Times as Fast as a Decade Ago”, Kendra Pierre-Louis, New York Times June 13, 2018, citing data published in the journal Nature (June 14, 2018).
