Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott will be honoured with the Isabella Blow award for Fashion Creator at the 2018 Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski.

The photographic duo will be honoured during the glittering ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall next month. This year marks their 25th anniversary of working in the fashion industry.

“We are thrilled to present the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to Mert and Marcus and acknowledge them for their remarkable contribution to the global fashion industry," said Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council. "Mert and Marcus have a unique way of portraying glamour, youth and fantasy, making them one of the forces of our industry. We look forward to celebrating with them, their clients and friends in London in December.”

Since first joining forces in 1994, the pair have worked for the world's leading fashion brands - from Givenchy and Gucci to Louis Vuitton and Versace - and shot some of the world's most influential women, including Angelina Jolie, Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Madonna. Often credited with shaping the landscape of digital fashion photography as we know it, they are renowned for their sexy, provocative shoots and celebration of strong, powerful women. Mert and Marcus' "dedication to the craft has garnered legions of fans and their incredible body of work has already left an indelible mark on the entire industry", read a statement from the BFC.

The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator recognises the very best innovators and creatives in fashion. Previous winners include make-up artist Pat McGrath, photographer Nick Knight and professor Louise Wilson OBE.
