Geoffrey Lewis, 79, a prolific television actor and frequent costar of Clint Eastwood, died Tuesday.

Carleen Donovan, a publicist for his daughter, actress Juliette Lewis, confirmed the news Wednesday.

The veteran character actor's credits alongside Eastwood include High Plains Drifter, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Every Which Way But Loose and its sequel, and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, among others.   - AP
