The F1 analogy is fitting. ''There are multiple benefits to developing a super shoe, as they serve as a laboratory for brands to experiment with new technologies and learn about what people want and what performs best. Eventually, a lot that tech finds its way into the everyday trainers”. https://lnkd.in/eteSMng3

How is traction measured in shoes? The reason grip is so important is because the only thing separating a shoe from the ground is the outsole. An increase in traction of up to 30% with our outsoles isn’t a magic number we have estimated. Just like our tyres, we do numerous physical tests to prove that our technology works well every time. Our experts on our YouTube series, The Garage, tested the traction of one of our outsoles to a regular outsole using a force measurement device. Using this device, a regular running shoe measured 8 newtons, while the adidas running shoe with our outsole measured 12 newtons. This shows that our rubber has been engineered to perform with higher friction than regular rubber

As super shoes become more widespread and accessible, more runners are using them for the bulk of their training. We're often asked about the safety & implications of this, so that's what Matthew Klein, David Salas, and Nathan Brown dive right into. They take a look at the biomechanical and training impacts of training in super shoes over the long term, as well as how they could impact your performance. They also give their first thoughts on the newest entries to the super shoe market: the ASICS Corporation Metaspeed Sky Paris and Edge Paris. Finally, they wrap up with a look at calf strains, how to diagnose, manage, and rehab from them. Listen on the run! Apple: https://apple.co/3TnlDw1 Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3P5m9MP

Can your brand ever become so famous, so prestigious, so synonymous with luxury that it becomes, in essence, a generic term available for third party use? Rolls-Royce and Hexclad are currently on opposite sides of that question. In response to Rolls-Royce's complaint alleging trademark infringement, false designation of origin, unfair competition and dilution arising out use of the phrase "the Rolls-Royce of pans", Hexclad seeks declaratory relief and also asserts laches as a bar to the claims (perhaps emboldened by the TTAB's recent precedential decision in Advance Magazine Publishers, Inc. v. Fashion Electronics, Inc., 2023 U.S.P.Q.2d 753 (T.T.A.B. 2023)). The case to watch is Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited v. One Source to Market, LLC, 2:23-cv-08387 (D.NJ).
