First generation Hyundai Accent (1994-1999)

The Accent was introduced into the North American market in 1994. Like the first generation of the Accent, the second was also front-wheel drive but was only available as a hatchback with either 3 or 5 doors. Both are powered by a 1.5-liter GDI 4-cylinder gasoline engine capable of producing up to 130HP. When released, the standard SE was made available in a 6-speed manual with a 6-speed automatic upgrade available. The SEL, on the other hand, featured a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard. All models featured an enhanced entertainment system, safety improvements like a forward collision avoidance alert, and 17-inch alloys. The 2022 Hyundai Accent is the final version of the vehicle available in the United States.
