• Beat out 2,000 other boys for the lead role in Billy Elliott (2000)
• Met Evan Rachel Wood when they both appeared in the 2005 music video for Green Day's hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends
• " Worked with Andy Serkis on films like King Kong (2005) and The Adventures of Tintin (2011); Bell later went to Serkis for advice on using performance capture while playing The Thing in Fantastic Four (2015)
