Crafter’s Companion Subscription Box 46 – Iris Folding

I had forgotten how much fun iris folding was until I got this card kit. Once you complete a card it just looks so beautiful and it looks like you spent a ton of time getting the pattern right. Years ago I had made several cards with iris folding but with paper templates. Now after using plastic templates I wouldn’t want to use paper again. This set has over 380 elements, and will make 16+ cards. It includes metal dies, stamps, templates, cards, envelopes, special sized colored and patterned paper, along with larger solid colored cardstock, additional white card panels, gems and ribbons. Everything you need. You can check out the subscription box site for the unboxing and a few demos – Crafters Companion Box site.

Sara Davies, the owner of Crafter’s Companion, always puts together a fun kit that is packed with lots of crafty items and new techniques. My kit was delivered with auto-ship through HSN as always.  You can check out Crafter’s Companion website for more information.  This kit, as always, is a wonderful bargain. There is a Facebook group that you can join once you subscribe which provides lots of community support and loads of examples; plus, Sara also has a monthly card kit site that you can refer to for demos/project pages.

I decided to also use some Hunkydory cardstock I had in my stash and I think it added to the beauty of these cards. I also used some older paper I had in my stash from older CC card kits for the iris folding. These papers blended well with the Hunkydory card fronts. I also had a few random sentiment toppers that I grabbed from my stash for speed. For glue, I used a combination of tape pen (runner), 3D glue gel and I used collall wet glue to raise up a few of the elements. I would also recommend the Crafter’s Companion glass mat.  It is a true game changer.  Once you work on a glass surface you will agree!

Here are a few of the cards I made. I even made a few with my own patterns- let me know which you like best…..

Again I used HunkyDory Cardstock BUT I made my own pattern for the iris folding – I love how this turned out!!

Mix and match your papers and remember you can fold your papers in any way YOU want – not just what is on the templates. Let me know if you have any questions, and I would love to see what you create too so please feel free to share! Happy Crafting!!
