About this app

It was revealed in Mecca. It has only five verses and is named after the nickname of Abu Lahab, an uncle and an enemy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The surah curses Abu Lahab and his wife for their opposition and persecution of the Prophet and his message. It also warns them of the severe punishment of the hellfire that awaits them in the hereafter. Some of the benefits of reciting Surah Lahab are:

- It grants forgiveness of sins and rewards in the hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites Qul huwa Allaahu ahad ten times, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."
- It protects from the evil of the enemies and increases the wealth and blessings of the reciter. According to various narrations, whoever recites Surah Lahab on Friday, in the morning or evening, or before sleeping, will be protected from enemies, poverty, insanity, and sudden calamity. He will also have his sustenance increased by Allah and will be raised in the company of the prophets on the Day of Judgment.
- It increases the knowledge and faith of the reciter in Allah. Surah Lahab is a reminder of the oneness of Allah, and it emphasizes His attributes of knowledge, power, and majesty. Reciting these verses can help to increase the reciter's knowledge of Allah, and to strengthen their faith.
