A Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden was called out  at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday to Hockley County on Road 597 where a passerby saw what resembled an animal only known in myths.

A woman in a Whiteface convenience store approached the local warden 15 minutes earlier and said she stumbled across a creature on the road that “looked like the chupacabras you see in videos online,” said TPWD Game Warden Aaron Sims.

Sims said that the game warden on the scene assured the woman it was more than likely a coyote with mange, but she said it looked like a chupacabra because of the large snout and eyes.

The game warden on scene confirmed that it was in fact a coyote with mange.

Sims told EverythingLubbock.com that  occasionally wardens get reports of chupacabras — the legendary creatures which have reportedly been sighted all over the Americas.

He said all reports, just like this one turn out to be a sick, over-sized coyote with mange. Sims added that as these coyotes become dehydrated, their canine teeth become more pronounced.
